GRL GANG, a label and community dedicated to supporting women and non-binary people in dance music, is back again with the biggest installment of their annual Wreck The Halls compilation yet with eight tracks from some of dance music’s most promising up-and-comers.
Kicking off the release is Estonia-based artist Dino Shadix with “Distorted Dino,” a relentless dubstep tune with an old-school feel. The intro feels like the old days of innovative dubstep, but drops into a hailstorm of unexpectedly aggressive stabs. This song will have you at the edge of your seat ready for more from this promising newcomer.
Next up is the wildly creative “FALLCATCHER” from onumi, fresh off a collaboration with MUST DIE! on his Feral Fantasy album. The single is complex and unique with breakbeat inspirations and a drama that sounds like a cinema score.
Other standouts include Kendoll’s high-energy bass house tune, “What A Show,” featuring rising vocalist Techno Tupac, and TINYKVT with the midtempo and psytrance piece “Tired” centered around her own vocals.
Founder of GRL GANG, JEANIE, said about the collection, “I’m ecstatic to be releasing our third installment of ‘Wreck The Halls,’ which is one of my favorite installments to date. The artists involved are all incredibly talented and I’m so honored to be able to showcase their talents via another killer GRL GANG compilation.”
