Your Guide To The EDC World Party Parade

EDC Parade

From the streets of Rio during Carnival to New Orleans’ Mardi Gras floats and Berlin’s legendary Love Parade, some of the best parties on the planet are propelled by parades. This year, Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) joins that esteemed company with its first-ever EDC World Party Parade, rolling down the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, May 14.

Helping celebrate the festival’s 30th anniversary, the day before it returns to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the electronic music parade, helmed by EDC promoter Insomniac Events, will shut down Las Vegas Boulevard with a procession of over 30 art cars, moving sound systems, and hundreds of performers passing by several of the city’s most prominent resorts.

“Bringing people together to celebrate dance music culture right on the Las Vegas Strip through a music parade is something we’ve dreamed about for a long time,” Insomniac CEO Pasquale Rotella shared in a statement. “Opening this up as a free experience means more people can be part of it and feel that connection, energy, and sense of community. This is about giving back to the culture, to the community, and to the city of Vegas, which has been such an important part of our journey.”

The event is free and open to the public. All ages are welcome, with “P.L.U.R. strictly enforced,” according to the flyer. Read all the details on the first-ever EDC World Party Parade below.

Art Cars

Whether at Burning Man, weekend festivals, or renegade afterparties, art cars have become one of dance music’s favorite sub-scenes. Easily transportable on wheels, they can turn any space into an impromptu dance party. Often grassroots-built and operated, and decked out in lights and sound, they’re yet another beacon of creative expression in our scene, many of which have become as famous as its festivals and nightclubs.

The EDC World Party Parade embraces that corner of the culture by inviting several of those most iconic partymobiles to join the celebration. From “Walter” and “Big Red” of Arizona’s Walter Productions and Venice Beach’s TOWER69, to Mexico’s world-famous Mayan Warrior and Long Feng—it’s a who ‘s-who of the Art Car game.

After the parade, EDC Las Vegas returns to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway from May 15-17. Over 250 DJs will perform across more than eight stages at the event’s 30th-anniversary edition.
