Hamdi is celebrating his recent move to Chicago with a four-date residency at Cermak Hall.
The Oxford, UK-hailing bass star, who relocated to the Windy City late last year, will open the “House Warming” headline run on March 7. He’ll then return to play the 10,000-square-foot warehouse venue every Friday night through the end of the month, with the residency set to close on March 28.
“Since I recently became a Chicago resident, I thought it was only right I do a Chicago residency to celebrate!” Hamdi wrote on Instagram. “4 weeks, 4 mad lineups, 1 sick warehouse – it’s gonna be special. Not gonna be doing the same sort of set each night as well so don’t be afraid to come to more than one!”
Underscoring his transatlantic move, the producer and DJ—real name Alexander Hamdi—will be joined by an eclectic lineup of artists at the intersection of the U.S. and UK bass scenes, with sounds running the gamut from 140-BPM dubstep and UK garage to high-octane techno, rave, and other global club frequencies.
Night one opens with support performances from UK garage favorites Taiki Nulight and Bushbaby, followed by sets from Irish heavyweight KETTAMA, dubstep up-and-comer Pocket, boundary-pushing garage and UK bass producer MPH, Los Angeles underground stalwart Bianca Oblivion, and more throughout the rest of the month.
The final night of the residency will culminate in a special “roommates B2B” from Hamdi and Chicago bass hero LYNY—the British artist’s new housemate. Check out the full lineup below.
Over the last three years, Hamdi’s trademark blend of UK bass, grime, and OG dubstep have launched him to the top of the global bass scene, with bangers like “Skanka,” “Counting,” and his high-profile Skrillex collaboration, “Push,” at the forefront of the sound’s recent global resurgence. His latest release, “Fired Up,” with Marshmello, arrived in November.
