This weekend’s HARD Summer 2016 has come to a close with the tragic news of three deaths at the two-day festival in Southern California.
According to the San Bernardino Police Department, one male and two females died at this year’s festival. Two deaths occurred on Saturday, and one on Sunday.
The cause of the death for each case is at this time unknown.
HARD Summer was held at the Fontana Speedway, a first for HARD. Last year, the festival was forced to move from the Pomona, where two attendees died from drug-related causes.
Authorities believe heat might have played a factor in the deaths, as temperatures reached the low to mid 90 degrees during the course of the two day event.
HARD Summer 2016 had nearly 140,000 attendees this year. The festival has received mixed reviews from attendees expressing disorganization and lack of shaded areas.
HARD has not commented at this time.
