Head Trip and Floating Points have unveiled the lineup for Sunflower Sound System’s U.S. debut.
The heralded British musician, composer, and DJ’s custom-built hi-fi experience will make its first Stateside appearance when Goldenvoice’s one-time-only dance festival touches down at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, on October 10-11—bringing together a roster of the world’s most celebrated selectors for a distinct experience built around the physicality of finely tuned sound.
Floating Points will be joined by performances from his longtime collaborator and fellow UK visionary Four Tet, Bay Area-to-Berlin stalwart Avalon Emerson, legendary Hessle Audio co-founder Ben UFO, and world-renowned B2B partners Eris Drew & Octo Octa, as well as anticipated appearances from pioneering dub producer Mad Professor, Detroit house icon Theo Parrish, and Emmy-nominated music curator and vinyl DJ Zach Cowie.
Performances will run from 3PM to 12:30AM on Saturday and from 3PM to 11:30PM on Sunday.
Floating Points, born Sam Shepard, developed Sunflower Sound System for over a decade before it made its public debut in September 2024. After traveling to events such as London’s GALA Festival, Glastonbury, and Amsterdam’s Dekmantel, the system will set up shop at Head Trip inside an acoustically treated, paneled dome, enveloping its audience in a surround-sound experience with 10 custom speaker stacks arranged in a circle, according to a press release.
The environment will be further transformed with tapestries and original artwork commissioned from DJ and artist Josephine Chime, alongside the debut of the “Cosmosphere,” a giant mechanical mirrorball “designed to bloom above the room as the music builds.”
On Head Trip’s main stage, the festival will feature additional performances from Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, FISHER and Chris Lake’s “Under Construction,” Peggy Gou B2B Four Tet, Seth Troxler B2B Ben Sterling, Dom Dolla B2B KETTAMA, The Blessed Madonna, and DJ Harvey.
