Ibiza’s International Music Summit (IMS) has revealed initial details for its 15th edition, including a new location.
For the first time, the industry conference will be jointly held at newly opened hotels Mondrian and Hyde Ibiza, which are both located in Cala Llonga, just a short walk from the beach and a 10-minute drive from Ibiza Town.
From April 24-26, 2024, IMS will aim to “unite innovators, creators, visionaries and disruptors from across the global electronic music ecosystem.” Its 2024 theme is “Rebuilding Our Community: How To Bring Back Peace, Love, Unity & Respect.”
Discussing the importance of this year’s summit, IMS co-founder Ben Turner said, “Now that the industry has (mostly) enjoyed its bounce-back, this is the real test of stability as consumer habits settle down. It is also a moment where global events have impacted the unity of our scene, presenting many with challenging decisions to make.”
IMS 2024 will be co-hosted by BBC Radio 1 DJs Pete Tong and Jaguar, who will lead the summit in breaking down and discussing a number of topics and issues relevant to the global electronic music community.
Panels announced thus far include a deep dive into the history and successes of international independent labels Ninja Tune and Defected, led by their respective founders Matt Black and Simon Dunmore; a keynote speech from Tomorrowland founder Michiel Beers; an exploration of the cultural significance of Amapiano; and more.
The program continues with IMS’ “Market Focus” discussing Germany’s thriving scene; a new “Brave Space” for sharing ideas with HE.SHE.THEY.; and a partnership with Brian Eno’s climate charity Earth Percent, in which one percent of all credential purchases will be donated to the charity.
