Insomniac’s EDC Discovery Project Champs To Win Prestigious Music Scholarship

Discovery Project

It’s time to shoot your shot—Insomniac is leveling up its Discovery Project DJ contest for EDC Las Vegas 2025 to give the winners a spot in one of Los Angeles’ most esteemed music production schools.

A first-of-its-kind academic sponsorship for this year’s edition of the annual talent search will see the festival giant team up with ICON Collective to award the 2025 EDC Las Vegas Discovery Project champions a full-ride scholarship to the Burbank, California, school’s prestigious Advanced Music Production Program, an 18-month, on-campus certificate designed to cultivate the next industry greats.

During their time on campus, scholarship recipients will receive hands-on experience in ICON’s studios, one-on-one mentorship, over 900 office hours with faculty, exclusive guest artist Q&As, networking and career development, and immersive audio training with Dolby Atmos, according to a press release.

Grammy-nominated DJ and production duo SLANDER, known for their melodic bass hits as well as their ICON Collective alumni status, will join a respected panel of judges from Insomniac Music Group to evaluate contest submissions.

Along with SLANDER, Insomniac’s various festival-branded Discovery Project contests have launched the careers of some of today’s biggest names, like NGHTMRE, Sullivan King, and Jauz—all of whom are also ICON Collective alumni. The Discovery Project partnership comes as part of the school’s 20th anniversary celebrations this year.

After EDC Las Vegas, the music school will continue to sponsor Discovery Project competitions across 14 other Insomniac festivals this year. Winners of those competitions will receive a 10-week mentorship from an ICON Collective instructor, tailored to their music production and business needs, as well as access to the school’s online ELEVATE education program.

Submissions for the EDC Las Vegas 2025 Discovery Project are now open. All submissions must be made by Wednesday, April 2 at 8PM ET / 5PM PT.
