ISOxo and Knock2 have released their debut collaborative album, 4EVR.
The surprise drop arrives today via 88rising and sees the pair of rapidly rising San Diego-based trap stars and longtime friends give their burgeoning ISOKNOCK project a full-length production debut following a massive year of career milestones.
Packed with anticipated IDs, never-before-heard tunes, and punk rock attitude, 4EVR spans eight tracks that weave through a myriad of musical styles, from the duo’s famously aggressive trap sound to blistering breaks, bass house, and even emotionally tinged trance—emblematic of the pair’s mold-breaking path to the big time.
Anthemic synths and a classic trap beat are mashed up with intense hardstyle kicks on “THRASH (PARTY STARTER),” giving way to eerie screeches, deep bass, and fun-loving dub sirens on naughty good breakbeat track “TROUBLE.”
From there, high-octane sounds continue on bass house banger “ENERGY,” which features lively vocals from rapper Bantu, and “PAIN,” which features its own swaggering and propulsive percussion.
The back half of 4EVR is even more diverse. Following “SMACK TALK,” the pair’s landmark collaboration with trailblazing trap icon RL Grime, “SIGNAL” brings a series of captivating tempo changes. “BLIND” dips into emotional turmoil with hip-hop sonics, electric guitar, and heartwrenching verses from Araya and Sur Back before the album’s Eurodance-inspired title track, “4EVR,” provides a rush of serotonin complete with crooning vocals from cade clair.
To celebrate the watershed release, ISOxo and Knock2 held a special 4EVR gallery event in Los Angeles yesterday. The art exhibit and merch pop-up featured a special screening of a new short film and music video for “4EVR” and a live performance from the duo.
After giving ISOKNOCK its live debut at Coachella’s famous Sahara tent in April, the pair set off on their first joint headline tour last spring and will make their first-ever festival headline appearance at North Coast in September. Shortly after, they’ll also play Ultra Japan.
