Jeffrey Sutorius Can No Longer Use The Name Dash Berlin

Jeffrey Sutorius must give up the name, Dash Berlin.

Former Dash Berlin member and previous #7 DJ in the world, Jeffrey Sutorius, has announced on his social media pages that he can no longer use the name Dash Berlin. For those who are unaware, the story of Dash Berlin has been on a slippery slope. In June of 2018, Sutorius left Dash Berlin but “reclaimed” the name just a year later in order to return as Dash Berlin. Now, Jeffrey Sutorius has been informed that he has to give up the name once more. Sutorius released the following statement,

“Unfortunately, it has been sentenced last week that the Dash Berlin trademarks must be transferred to my former partners in Dash Berlin and that as of March 17th I cannot use the name Dash Berlin, as I’ve done in the past 13 years, any longer. I know this seems weird and to me personally it feels very unfair, but it is something that I have to accept and deal with for now. Therefore, from today onwards, I will be performing, producing, and releasing exactly as you are used to, under my own name, JEFFREY SUTORIUS, and no one will ever be able to take that name away from me.”

From here on out, Jeffrey Sutorius will be releasing music and playing festivals under his name while the name, Dash Berlin, has been given to his previous music partners, Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn. Although the details are not clear as to what sparked this final decision, it seems as though the beef has been squashed in regards to who has ownership of the infamous stage name, Dash Berlin.
