John Summit has been nominated for Top Dance/Electronic Album at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs).
The house and techno superstar received the nod today for his debut album, Comfort In Chaos. Featuring landmark singles like “Shiver,” “Where You Are,” and “Go Back,” the 12-track project was released to commercial acclaim in July, and its tracks have racked up over 300 million combined streams on Spotify alone in a solid bid for Billboard’s annual chart-centric honors.
“thx for the top dance/electronic album nomination billboard,” Summit wrote on Instagram today. “feels good to get some industry recognition.”
The Chicago-born producer and DJ stands out as the only pure EDM artist nominated in the category, alongside further Top Dance/Electronic Album recognitions given to Charli XCX’s Brat, Jungle’s Volcano, Odetari’s XIII SORROWS, and Troye Sivan’s Something To Give Each Other.
Other BBMA finalists in the electronic categories include Top Dance/Electronic Artist nominees Beyoncé, The Chainsmokers, Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, and Calvin Harris, and Top Dance/Electronic Song nods for Dua Lipa’s “Houdini” and “Illusion,” Kenya Grace’s “Strangers,” Ariana Grande’s “yes, and?,” and Marshmello and Kane Brown’s “Miles On It.”
Summit’s BBMA recognition arrives hot on the heels of his final run of Comfort In Chaos album shows, which saw the Experts Only label boss headline three consecutive nights at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum last month, following another massive year of major festival appearances and a sold-out arena debut at Madison Square Garden.
