John Summit has announced his new album, CTRL ESCAPE.
The Chicago-born house and techno sensation’s sophomore LP is set for release via his own Experts Only label in partnership with Darkroom Records on April 15. Summit made the announcement last night during a surprise pop-up performance at Re:frame Studios in Los Angeles.
Arriving on Tax Day in an homage to his path from certified public accountant to star producer and DJ, CNTRL ESCAPE is said to build on the duality of highs and lows explored in Summit’s 2024 album debut Comfort in Chaos, this time honing in on the clash between the monotony of nine-to-five work and the euphoric release of the rave, according to a press release.
The announcement follows the release of the album’s lead single, “LIGHTS GO OUT,” which arrived last week alongside a new music video inspired by Summit’s accounting days. He’s also confirmed that he’ll release a new single from the forthcoming album every other Wednesday until its full release.
