Justin Jay is stepping into the bass music genre, releasing Wait For The Drop, an EP that blends his house roots with a new bass music twist, out now on Deadbeats.
Inspired by his move to Denver, Colorado, also known as the bass capital of the world, Jay is showcasing his evolutionary journey into producing bass tunes.
The EP consists of four tracks, three different renditions of “Wait For The Drop” meant to be played in various live music situations. Collaborating with both Bayer & Waits, each version has its own unique blend of genres and tempos.
The original version begins with a bass house beat, followed by some experimental bass in the middle, and completed with a piano break.
“Wait For The Drop” VIP Remix leans into 2014 trap roots, with high-pitched vocals throughout the track, meant to be played at festivals around the world.
The third rendition is a remix by Y3llo and includes his unique vocal, “I just want to dance all night,” adding a more Drum and Bass twist to the track.
Lastly, “Mixed Signals” fuses bass house and UKG beats into a unique partnership of sounds, cementing it as a unique after party banger.
The release of this EP is a monumental moment for Justin Jay as he is stepping out of his comfort zone while exploring new sounds. Cementing himself as a house music producer who came up on the Dirtybird Record label, he is now expanding his horizons.
Playing after parties with Skrillex, Zeds Dead, and John Summit has also allowed him to showcase his ability to take risks.
