Knife Party Tease New Music For The First Time In Over 5 Years

Knife Party has teased new music for the first time in over five years.

The iconic dubstep duo of Pendulum members Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen took to X, formerly Twitter, earlier this week to share that they are finally back in the studio making new music under the moniker.

Though they haven’t formally announced any new tunes just yet, the duo captioned a meme featuring viral Turkish Olympic pistol shooter Yusuf Dikeç, whose laid-back stance and swagger have fascinated fans of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, with the words, “Knife Party cooking…”

It’s an apparent reminder that though the project has been on hold, the pair of producers behind trailblazing electro dubstep hits like “Bonfire” and “Internet Friends” are still at the top of their game and have big things coming. Knife Party’s last release, the four-track Lost Souls EP, came in 2019.

In the years since, Knife Party shows have been few and far between, with just a handful of one-off gigs and festival appearances. However, following two shows with Black Tiger Sex Machine in Seattle in March, the group is slated for a landmark show in Bristol for UKF’s 15-year celebration this December. Following the new music tease, fans will be hopeful that more Knife Party gigs are on the way soon too.

Swire and McGrath will also join third Pendulum member Paul Harding for the iconic drum & bass outfit’s 2024 North America tour. The nine-date run of DJ sets will kick off at ReelWorks in Denver next month.
