KURONEKO Is Bringing His Unexpected Japanese Sound To The PNW

Hailing from Japan, KURONEKO is an unexpected artist who combines massive grooves, supernatural synths, and Japanese tone and texture for a sound completely his own.

He has taken over regions of the Northwestern United States including Seattle, landing on lineups with exciting talents like LP Giobbi and Blossom. KURONEKO is well known for his otherworldly sound by his global fan base, the “MEOW Squad.”

But KURONEKO’s unique style also bleeds into his composition work. He has composed for the world’s top break dancer, Hal Fimuya, as well as sports players including Olympic athletes, world-renowned dance teams, and production companies throughout Japan.

Now his latest single is out to showcase his funky, bouncy, and unique sound. “Break it” is classic electro house with an upbeat and cheeky brass feature that feels like the epic climax of an anime video game or early Monstercat releases.

It samples Martin Luther King’s historic “I Have A Dream” speech before dropping into an unexpected but cathartic mid-tempo breakdown. “Break it” is nostalgic and fully unlike anything we’ve heard before.

KURONEKO is gearing up to release a host of more music and collaborations with renowned Japanese brands and dancers. With plans to tour throughout Japan, Europe, and the United States, KURONEKO is showing no signs of slowing down.
