Fans of Kygo were shocked as the chart-topping producer released a surprise album, Thrill Of The Chase, full of nostalgic tracks and exciting new pieces.
Thrill Of The Chase is the first album for Kygo since 2020’s gorgeous Golden Hour.
The collection feels like a celebration of Kygo’s iconic sunny sound with hints at future innovations and explorations to come. “Love Me Now” is classic Kygo tropical house with a positive and happy energy reminiscent of summer 2016.
Whereas “All For Love” and “Freeze” are deeper and darker, focusing on melodic house/techno sounds with pop-forward vocals—a new sound for the artist.
Kygo said about the surprise album, “Thrill Of The Chase is a collection of songs I worked on over the last two years that started during Covid and ended with sessions in Los Angeles. I’ve had the chance to play or tease the unreleased music throughout the year at shows and the feedback was unbelievable. A few of the songs on Thrill Of The Chase are different from anything I’ve ever made in the past and I’m really excited for everyone to finally hear the album in its entirety.”
Kygo is best known for his 2017 anthem with Selena Gomez “It Ain’t Me” which currently has over 1.2 billion streams on Spotify. But he has not slowed down at all this year with performances at Life is Beautiful, Ushuaïa Ibiza, and Madison Square Garden.
