For some, the changing of seasons is marked by swings in temperature, the falling of leaves, or the arrival of snow. But for melodic house fans, it’s not officially winter until Lane 8 drops his annual winter mixtape.
The coldest season is now underway after the producer, DJ, and This Never Happened label boss—real name Daniel Goldstein—shared his final seasonal mix of the year on SoundCloud yesterday.
Clocking in at a little under three hours, Lane 8’s Winter 2024 Mixtape abstracts the pensive reflection and melancholy of the winter months with a seamless blend of over 40 tracks from across the deep house universe.
Packed with plenty of unreleased IDs and This Never Happened productions, the mix features an array of deep house tracks by artists like Tourist & Gold Panda, Ashibah, Jeremy Olander, Otherwish, Rinzen, and many more, plus a few of Goldstein’s personal favorites from the likes of DJ Seinfeld, deadmau5, Disclosure, and salute. Check out the full tracklist here.
Goldstein’s final musical offering of 2024 caps off a big year for the Denver-based artist, who released his fifth studio album, Childish, in September. The 10-track project pulls inspiration from his experience as a father and marks his first LP since 2022’s Reviver.
In 2025, Lane 8 will bring Childish on tour with a 14-date U.S. headline run, touching down in Seattle, the Bay Area, Chicago, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Atlanta and more. Learn more here.
