Levity Announce Debut Concept EP, ‘Escapism, Vol. 1’

Levity

Levity has announced its debut EP, Escapism, Vol. 1.

The rapidly rising experimental bass trio of producers John Hauldren, PJ Carberry, and Josh Tarum confirmed on social media yesterday that the project is slated for release on September 25.

Alongside a video trailer for Escapism Vol. 1, which features an ominous voice encouraging the viewer to “escape reality” and psychedelic visuals that traverse through outer space and a portal to the sky, Levity described the project as a “concept EP,” with “more meaning & story than just a collection of songs.”

“We want you to be able to escape into ur own world while listening to this EP, escaping from any problems in life & all the harshness that comes with ‘reality,’” the group wrote in a joint statement. “We always want any project we do, whether it’s a shorter form EP or a full album, to tell a story and explore concepts.”

“This is our first attempt at creating & providing that experience, and it is only the first part of this story that we plan to dive deeper into over the years,” they continued.

Following Levity’s collaborative Deadbeats single, “ONE FOR YOU,” with ALLEYCVT and “Front to Back,” Escapism, Vol. 1 will mark Levity’s third original release of 2024, nearly one year on from the release of their viral wobbler and breakout hit, “Flip It.”

After the EP’s release later this month, Levity will embark on its first headline tour in October. Each show on the eight-date run will feature a 360-degree performance, with the group set to play cities like Atlanta, Denver, New York, and Chicago, where they’ll host a special “winter wonderland” hometown show on January 31. They’ll also play festivals such as Lost Lands, WAKAAN, and Suwannee Hulaween through late October.
