Whether you’re hitting the town for a night of clubbing or traveling to visit loved ones, The City of Angels wants you to have a safe and happy New Year. LA Metro has announced that it will offer free bus and rail rides to all passengers this New Year’s Eve.
Free fares on all Los Angeles bus and rail lines will go into effect at 9PM, this Sunday, December 31 and remain active until 2AM on Monday, January 1, 2024.
Even if you’re heading to afters and miss the 2AM cutoff for free rides, LA Metro will extend its paid service to run around the clock on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, ensuring safe travels for all.
LA Metro’s local on-demand rideshare service, Metro Micro, will also offer free rides on New Year’s Eve. Passengers simply need to use coupon code “Ring24” to activate their 100 percent discount. It is important to note that Metro Micro service will still adhere to its standard operating hours, ending at 10PM in most service zones with some exceptions.
Those planning to start their New Year’s fitness resolutions right away are in luck too, as the first 30 minutes of all rides on Metro Bike Share will be free through December 31. To access a bike, customers should select “1-Ride” at any Bike Share kiosk, online or in-app, and use promo code “010124.”
