The Matrix Resurrections, the long-awaited fourth installment in the Matrix saga, is coming out Wednesday, December 22, 2021. But before the release of the movie comes the release of the soundtrack, out Friday, December 17, with remixes from techno stalwarts like Berghain‘s, Marcel Dettmann, Gudrun Gut, and System 01.
Dettmann expressed his excitement for the new remix via Facebook:
“I’m proud to announce my remix for “The Matrix Resurrections” is included in the official soundtrack… it will be released on the 17th of December…

Johnny Kilmek and Tom Tykwer wrote the original score for the film which is broken into 24 tracks with 11 remixes on the release. Kilmek and Tykwer have worked together many times in the past, including their score for 2012’s Cloud Atlas. The two received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score for their work on that film.
The Matrix Resurrections directors, the Wachowski siblings, also directed Cloud Atlas, and so viewers can expect a type of chemistry in the new movie that only comes from years of collaboration.
