Trance legend Markus Schulz and singer-songwriter-philanthropist Sir Ivan—aka “Peaceman”—have teamed up to share their timely first collaboration, “Turn! Turn Turn!”
Out now on Schulz’ own Coldharbour Recordings, the new single revitalizes the 1959 anti-war song of the same name—originally penned by Pete Seeger and made famous by The Byrds—with uplifting synths, driving kicks, unique guitar riffs and Sir Ivan’s smooth vocals.
“In a world overshadowed by discord and unrest, the enduring message of hope can still resonate loudly: It’s not too late for peace. This powerful sentiment drew me to this song, compelling me to be a part of its narrative,” Schulz said in a press release. “In a landscape where division seems to dominate, the reminder that peace is still within reach is not only timely but paramount.”
With this message in mind, it was only natural that Schulz collaborate with Sir Ivan, the Billboard Top 10 recording artist famous for his high-energy dance remakes of peace and anti-war songs from the 1960s and early 1970s, with net proceeds from each donated to his Peaceman Foundation, a non-profit battling post-traumatic stress disorder.
“My hope is that the contagious track Markus Schulz created will spread the lyrical message of peace throughout dance floors all over the world and inspire its listeners to love one another,” Sir Ivan added.
