Marriott and MGM Resorts International just launched a long-term licensing and loyalty marketing agreement to link rewards programs beginning in October.
The agreement will run across 17 MGM-branded casino resorts which will be accessible via Marriott’s website. The Marriott already has a relationship with MGM via The Cosmopolitan, but this deal will expand across their properties in Las Vegas and other cities.
This new deal will allow members of MGM Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy to link accounts and receive extra benefits, doubling the opportunities to get rewards.
Marriott CEO Tony Capuano said in a press conference, “Members of both programs will be able to exchange MGM Rewards points, Bonvoy points and vice versa. Specifics about linking those accounts, points transfer, experiences, lounge access and other benefits will be communicated to consumers later this fall.”
The 20-year agreement comes on the heels of Hyatt and MGM announcing an end to their partnership this upcoming September in a bittersweet change for travelers.
The exact details behind what this means for loyalty tier members have not yet been revealed, but the information is coming soon.
