Miami Beach will implement a ban on alcohol sales after 6PM beginning this Thursday, March 24, until this Saturday, March 26. Normal sales will be able to resume on Sunday.
An official statement provided to WSVN read, “the sale or distribution of any alcoholic beverage(s) for off-premises consumption, with or without payment or consideration therefor, shall be prohibited in the curfew area after 6PM. on Thursday, March 24, 2022, after 6PM on Friday, March 25, 2022; and after 6PM on Saturday, March 26, 2022.”
This news comes following a 12AM curfew on Miami Beach in response to two shootings which took place last weekend. Five people were injured as a result of the incidents. The curfew zone is within the perimeter of 23rd Street and Dade Boulevard to the north to Government Cut to the south.
Many upscale hotels including the SLS, the Arlo, and the Marseilles are within this area and as such their Miami Music Week events will now have to end before midnight and alcohol sales will be prohibited after 6PM.
Check out the Miami Music Week event guide here to stay up to date on any events that may be affected.
There are plenty of events happening outside of the curfew zone in areas like Wynwood and Downtown. Famed venues such as Space Miami, Treehouse, and Ultra Music Festival will not be affected at this time.
