Michael Bibi is shutting down Hollywood Blvd. for a massive block party this spring.
The UK tech house icon and Solid Grooves label boss will headline the open-air party in Los Angeles, presented by heralded SoCal promoters Framework and Goldenvoice, on March 15, Bibi announced on social media today.
The landmark show follows another Bibi block party held on the steps of the Miami-Dade County Courthouse for Miami’s annual week of Art Basel festivities last month, which marked his first major appearance back at the South Florida clubbing hotspot since beating cancer in December 2023.
Bibi is now the second act to shut down Hollywood Blvd. for an electronic music show, after Chris Lake and FISHER became the first pair to do so with their “Under Construction” event in October 2023.
After taking only six months away from the decks to focus on his fight with CNS lymphoma, a rare form of cancer that affects the brain and spine, Bibi returned to the live stage in September 2023 for a special performance on the final night of Solid Grooves seasonal residency at DC10 Ibiza.
Now, over a year later, he’s firmly back on the clubbing circuit, having marked his comeback with his run of charitable “One Life” tour shows and high-profile appearances at Coachella and Creamfields last year, as well as a full season of Solid Grooves residency shows last summer and a return to Damian Lazarus‘ famous Day Zero festival in Tulum last month.
Bibi has also confirmed that a portion of proceeds from the Los Angeles block party will be donated to the LA Fire Department Foundation Fund to provide vital equipment and funds to those impacted by the ongoing California wildfires.
