Michael Bibi Leaves Hospital After Completing His Main Cancer Treatment

Yesterday, Michael Bibi shared an update on his health, revealing that he has now left the hospital after completing the main portion of his cancer treatment.

The British house DJ and Solid Grooves label boss wrote on Instagram, “When I first came into the hospital I was barely able to walk. Today I walk out with a smile having completed my main treatment. Tired but happy… My fight against cancer is not over… but for now a break & some extra time to enjoy life.”

In June, Bibi announced he had been diagnosed with CNS lymphoma, a rare form of cancer in the brain and spine, meaning he would not play shows for the “foreseeable future,” including his label residency at DC-10 Ibiza.

By his birthday, June 22, Bibi’s tumor had reduced by 40 percent. In another update in mid-July, he shared his “10 weeks in a hospital bed” had briefly come to an end, being released for a short break as his treatment continued to go well.

As one of the most famous DJs in the UK dance music scene, Bibi’s fight has been met with massive support. In addition to invaluable support from his friends and family, artists and fans from around the world have wished Bibi well throughout his treatment journey.

Jamie Jones notably paired an on-screen “Get Well Michael” message with Bibi’s fan-favorite track “Different Side” at Parklife festival in June. An emotional message with comments from Bibi himself was played at Solid Grooves on the Dock in London in July.

The collection of artists sending well wishes on Bibi’s latest update includes stars like Fatboy Slim, Black Coffee, Amelie Lens, Martin Garrix, and many more.

Bibi’s camp has asked that if anyone has information that can help his situation, they please reach out to cancersupport@michaelbibi.com.
