Well, Halloween has come and gone.
I spent the spookiest night of the year at Minimal Effort Halloween in Downtown Los Angeles. The party was held at LA Center Studios which provided the perfect backdrop for the big bash. It was awesome to party surrounded by the LA skyline.
We arrived at the party around 7pm. We went through security and ID check very quickly as there was no line. From there, we had a few drinks and explored the property. One of the outdoor stages was closed when we arrived – apparently for technical issues. The Garden stage eventually opened later on in the night. The closure was announced on Facebook, but not in time for me to realize that DJ’s had been shuffled around. I was able to catch the end of Waze & Odyssey who threw down a really good set. There were three stages in all. The indoor stage was home to Coyu and his kitties. The room was very hot and stripped down – but people enjoyed it nonetheless. Tiga provided a fantastic set to close out the night at the Garden stage. That was totally a highlight of the evening.
There were vendors, food trucks, multiple bars and a VIP area. It wasn’t that packed – so it was nice to be able to explore the festival. The Bridge stage was the largest stage which was tricked out with lights, LED panels and lasers. Everyone was dancing while dressed in their costumes. The vibe was on point all night. Everyone was in great spirits and there to have a good time.
Minimal Effort isn’t like Insomniac – as they focus on the music – and not a gigantic production..hence their name. This was my first time checking out a Minimal Effort party – and I will definitely be back for more.
