Detroit’s Movement Music Festival has locked in its full lineup for 2025.
More than 115 globally renowned DJs and live electronic acts will be on hand to celebrate the Motor City’s music legacy as the birthplace of techno when the three-day festival returns to Hart Plaza this Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27.
This year’s program, unfolding across six stages and several curated showcases and pop-up sets, will feature anticipated return headline performances from Belgian acid techno queen Charlotte de Witte, global dance sensation John Summit, and industry titan Carl Cox, playing live.
Also added to Movement’s 2025 lineup in an eclectic class of phase two names are hard techno star Sara Landry, Dutch house favorite Mau P, New York hip-hop icon A$AP Ferg, and do-it-all actor-rapper-DJ Zach Fox, plus scene heavyweights like Nina Kraviz, HAAi, Boys Noize, The Blessed Madonna, FJAAK, Skepta’s Más Tiempo project, and many more.
They’ll join previously announced acts including UK garage don Sammy Virji, drum & bass heroes Chase & Status, and rising Detroit ghettotech trio HiTech, house and techno favorites like DJ Gigola, Klangkuenstler, Anfisa Letyago, Sama’ Abdulhadi, Patrick Topping, DJ Minx, and Marcel Dettmann, and a high-profile set from award-winning indie-dance producer Jamie xx, fresh off his acclaimed sophomore album, In Waves.
As is tradition, Detroit’s musical influence will be honored in a B2B from Detroit techno legends Carl Craig & Moodymann, featuring a special guest appearance from foundational Underground Resistance label co-founder Mike Banks, and performances from some of the city’s most heralded veterans and emerging artists, such as Huey Mnemonic, Stacey Pullen, Jon Dixon, Waajeed B2B Ladymonix, Stacey “Hotwaxx” Hale, and Mike “Agent X” Clark, among others.
Label and brand showcases at this year’s festival include Carl Craig’s traveling Detroit Love party series, Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records, DJ Minx’s House Your Life, and a first-ever showcase from Detroit’s Underground Music Academy, a community hub founded by Waajeed that aims to support the scene’s future leaders, rooted in the city’s Black electronic music legacy.
