Level 1, a new underground dance music venue, is launching in Seattle this month.
The new high-tech space developed by Insomniac Events and the team behind Seattle’s famous Bumbershoot festival will make its full-scale debut with a performance from renowned Italian house duo MEDUZA on March 27.
Located beneath downtown Seattle’s Cannonball Arts, the 1,800-capacity space is purpose-built for house, techno, and experimental beats. Staking its claim as “a premier destination for electronic music in the Pacific Northwest,” according to a press release, the venue features a custom House Under Magic sound system powered by Danley Sound Labs and immersive lighting by Maktive, known for lighting work at events like Skyline festival and Coachella.
After the MEDUZA show, Level 1 will continue to host “international touring artists, live sets, and late-night programming year-round,” including a performance from acclaimed British DJ Rebekah on May 8.
The venue arrives as part of ongoing plans for Seattle’s newly minted Cannonball Arts. Situated just steps from Pike Place Market, the contemporary arts center opened last August after being converted from a former Bed Bath & Beyond location by the team behind Bumbershoot.
