New York City To Name Statue Or Street After DMX

DMX

New York City will be honoring the recently deceased rapper in his hometown of Yonkers, New York

This past week, iconic rapper DMX passed away on life support following a heart attack. The New York icon is most known for his tracks ‘Ruff Ryder’s Anthem’ and ‘X Gon’ Give It to Ya’ and will now be remembered in his hometown with either a statue or street sign, depending on what DMX’s family decides.

Sources have disclosed to TMZ that the Mayor of Yonkers, Mike Spano, is the driving force behind the statue and street sign and is the primary influence in seeking a proper public memorial for the New York rapper. Spano also announced that DMX’s family could use the 7,500 capacity Yonkers Raceway for a memorial service.

DMX’s family will likely finalize plans for a memorial by the end of the week.
