The rising popularity of NFT’s (non-fungible tokens) is growing at a staggering rate. The phenomenon has taken over the internet by storm and now ODESZA has announced that they will debut their brand new NFT collection on Saturday, March 20 on Nifty Gateway.
What are NFT’s?
Non-fungible tokens (NFT’s) are a specific type of cryptocurrency that represents something unique and original. These digital objects can be used to purchase or trade digital items online, kind of like a Yu-Gi-Oh! card or an exclusive sporting card but online in digital form. Now, we are seeing celebrities and artists hopping on board the NFT train. ODESZA is the first of many electronic artists to announce the debut of an exclusive NFT. Deadmau5 and Flume both recently announced that they will have exclusive NFT’s coming out in the next few weeks.
ODESZA announced their debut NFT on Twitter which will be in collaboration with visual artists Japanese Dad. The collaboration between ODESZA and Japanese Dad will be called ‘REMNANTS’ and will be composed of,
“Excavated ideas from our years long collaboration as artists. REMNANTS is a resurrection of artistic concepts lost to time and scattered across hard-drives. We unearthed our past to inspire our future, revitalizing forgotten inspirations through the lens of our current experience. REMNANTS embodies the rebirth of lost artifacts informing our future history now forever preserved on the blockchain.”
A portion of the proceeds will go directly to Carbon180 to support their efforts to offset and reduce carbon emissions. View the announcement below:
