Orlando Ranks First In US Travel Once Again With 74 Million Visitors In 2022

Orlando has maintained its top spot as America’s most visited destination, reaching 74 million visitors in 2022.

The sunny city in Florida has recovered from the pandemic low in tourism, getting visitation back up to 98% of pre-pandemic levels. Domestic travel also appears to have recovered with a new record of 61 million people visiting.

Most of the visitors to Orlando came from Canada, the UK, and Brazil. Yet, business travel is still in recovery while international visitation has almost been completely restored to 75% of pre-pandemic levels.

Orlando is getting ready for even more growth in tourism as the train company Brightline claims it will open its new Orlando extension by November 2023. This new system is part of an expansion adding ten trains to the overall rail system in Florida.

The new Brightline train station at Orlando International Airport is also complete and plans to be fully operational by later this summer.
