Porter’s ‘Nurture’ is a direct reflection of creativity, passion, and hard work
It has not been an easy road for Porter Robinson, who has worked tirelessly to make his second album, ‘Nurture‘ his most successful one to date. Ever since Porter released Worlds in 2014, the then 22-year-old producer has found it incredibly difficult to come up with new, creative ideas. As a result, Porter cut ties with friends and fun in an attempt to focus on the album.
Earlier this year, Anna Lunoe featured Porter Robinson on Episode 59 of danceXL, Lunoe’s Apple Music radio show. On her podcast, Porter discussed his creativity and personal journey behind ‘Nurture.’ At the time, it appeared evident that Porter had been struggling with creativity, which is partially why Porter’s recent singles portray such positivity and mindfulness.
In the time between Porter dropped Worlds and his forthcoming album, ‘Nurture,’ Porter released a five-track EP under his alias, Virtual Self. Soon after releasing his five-track EP, Porter began to produce music again like he once had. Porter also made some drastic changes in his life around the time of his EP release. He met his girlfriend, began going outside more, and started hanging out with his friends again.
Porter has released three singles from his upcoming album so far, which will be supported by Porters Secret Sky Festival which will air a day after ‘Nurture‘ releases. The digital event will be in direct support of the album and will feature REZZ and Baauer, amongst others.
