Portola Music Festival Unveils Full Run Of City-Wide Portola Week Parties

Portola Music Festival has unveiled the full run of shows for Portola Week, the San Francisco festival’s four-night run of pre-parties and afterparties.

Portola Week will kick off two days before the festival on September 26 and run through its end on September 29, giving Bay Area dance fans a chance to dive even deeper into the festival’s indie electronic ethos at events held across the city.

On Thursday, September 26, fans can catch one of two parties from Boiler Room and an elusive performance from electroclash favorite The Dare. In addition to producing Charli XCX’s chart-topping “Guess” with Billie Eilish, the Pacific Northwest-raised artist is leading a recent indie sleaze revival with his electro-instrumental tunes like “Girls” and “Good Time.”

Alongside Boiler Room’s main event with Club Heat (Tove Lo & SG Lewis), Peaches, JPEGMAFIA, and more, Friday, September 27, will see legendary indie dance duo Soulwax perform alongside Marie Davidson at the Regency Ballroom before heading over to Audio SF for a 2manydjs B2B with Erol Alkan later in the night.

Elsewhere on Friday, Floating Points and John Talabot will play 888 Garage, UK jungle revivalist Nia Archives will bring her Up Ya Archives show to the Great Northern, house heroines Nala and VNSSA will bring their Girl Math B2B to the Monarch, and Portola’s own Racoon Social will bring San Francisco icons Justin Martin and Ardalan to the Midway alongside Ranger Trucco, Maddy Maia B2B TOTTIE and more.

The party continues late-nite on Saturday, September 28, with DJ sets from Tycho and Mount Kimbie at Storek, performances from DJ TennisCarlita, and Luke Alessi at 888 Garage, and another elusory performance from oddball trio Glass Beams at The Warfield, among other events.

Finally, Portola Week finishes strong on Sunday, September 29 with the San Francisco debut of Disclosure’s Friends & Family party at The Midway and a curated event from legendary French label Ed Banger Records, featuring Busy P B2B Boys Noize and more at 888 Garage. Fans can also catch Franc Moody and Pretty Girl at the Regency, DJ Seinfeld at the Monarch, and Empress Of at The Chapel.
