Grammy-winning producer Purple Disco Machine, Tino Schmidt has released an electrifying, groovy “I’m Just Ken” remix from the Barbie movie. With the original being produced by legendary Mark Ronson, Schmidt had much to live up to with this remix, which did not disappoint.
Purple Disco Machine is a German producer known for bringing disco roots into various songs and for his unreal live performances. After winning a Grammy for his remix of “About Damn Time” ft. Lizzo, Schmidt continues to bring a high level of production to his remixes, which shows on “I’m Just Ken”.
The original song contains vocals from Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken. The song Ken is one of the main characters in the Barbie movie and is supposed to represent men’s struggles to perform their masculinity.
“Can you feel the Kenergy?” is one of the repeating taglines of the remix that Schmidt played off with a groovy disco beat in the background of Ryan Gosling’s vocals. The remix by Schmidt puts more power and dance into the original ballad. Sure to be played in all the clubs, the Purple Disco Machine remix has left us wanting more disco remixes from the Barbie movie.
