Ray Volpe has announced a nine-date North American headline tour kicking off this fall.
Beginning October 5, the dubstep heavyweight’s “Volpeverse Tour” will touch down in cities like Chicago, Montreal, Denver, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and more before a grand “Volpeverse Finale” is held at a to-be-announced venue in 2025.
The tour features an all-new audiovisual show that invites fans deeper into Volpe’s musical universe, complete with story-driven visuals and the artist’s beloved “Volpetron” robot character.
On select nights, in addition to a headline set from the viral “Laserbeam” and “SEE YOU DROP” producer, fans who venture into the Volpeverse will be treated to support performances from special guest Dion Timmer and further dubstep and trap favorites like Control Freak, Drinkurwater, JEANIE, TYNAN and more. “i really wanted to try something new & different from my usual sets, & i am so happy to be finally taking a step in that direction,” Volpe wrote of the new A/V show on Instagram yesterday.
“the best way i can compare it/describe it is like a roller coaster ride,” he continued. “there’s some bits of story interwoven into non-stop action, the action here being the music you come to expect. there’s a couple of new characters involved but more on them later. i have SO much new music & brand new collabs to premiere on this tour, it’s been so hard not to play these out as i make them LOL i really can’t wait to experience it first hand with all of you.”
After the dizzying success of his 2022 breakthrough track, “Laserbeam,” which became the most-played and most-purchased dubstep track that year according to 1001Tracklists and Beatport, Volpe is meeting the challenge of following up a smash-hit head-on.
Last year, the producer dropped his five-track Volpetron Ascends EP, packed with fan-favorite tracks like “HAPPY SONG” and “EAT SLEEP RAGE,” and has continued his sonic evolution with two more red-hot singles in 2024, “SEE YOU DROP” and “SONG REQUEST,” balancing Volpe’s trademark heavy dubstep anthemics with expansive divulsions into other amped-up subgenres like bass house.
