Seven People Hospitalized & Over 80 Injured In Hailstorm At Red Rocks Show

Seven people were hospitalized and over 80 people were injured during a concert last night at the popular Colorado venue Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

A huge storm including lightning and “apple-sized” hail caused multiple injuries at Red Rocks during a Louis Tomlinson concert with seven people taken to the hospital and a range of 80 to 90 people treated at the scene with cuts and broken bones.

The event was reportedly delayed, with the venue advising attendees to seek shelter in their cars as the hail and rain raged.

They eventually gave the all clear and concertgoers began to head back into the show, only for an announcement an hour later for fans to head back to their cars as more severe weather was approaching.

Videos showed people getting pelted by gigantic balls of hail, rain flooding down staircases in a dangerous rush, and lightning flashing in the background.

One attendee told The Denver Gazette the impact from the hail broke their partner’s windshield.

The concert was then cancelled.

Red Rocks has addressed the incident on their social media, stating, “We want to take a moment to acknowledge the severe weather event at Red Rocks last night and offer our sincere best wishes to everyone affected by last night’s storms across Colorado.”

They continued, “And, we’re having a little talk with Mother Nature about this weather business at Red Rocks. Between a wind-whipped opening night wildfire, snow showers, torrential rains and hail, it’s been a crazy six weeks in the foothills” before going on to promote their upcoming shows.

Fans have been very vocal in the comments on both sides of the argument with some claiming vendors were mocking attendees as they tried to hide under the concession stands and others are claiming that the weather forecast was clearly extreme and people should have stayed home.

But the venue is offering refunds for the Louis Tomlinson show with more information to come to ticketholders.
