Art Basel in Miami Beach is kicking off this weekend, showcasing modern and contemporary art from around the world. Although Art Basel is taking place inside the Miami Beach Convention Center, the city of Miami hosts music and art events city-wide. Miami is known for its delicious cuisine; restaurants will produce their top dining experiences. With over 30+ restaurants on the Art Basel website alone, we wanted to highlight some restaurants from different cultures and price points to check out in the Miami area this weekend.
The Wynwood district/neighborhood in Miami, known for its colorful street murals, hosts many restaurants and art for locals and tourists to check out. The Oasis, a bar, and live music are a few top spots to stop at. Naruto 88 Bistro has delicious ramen and Asian food. La Sandwicherie is a sandwich shop with flavors such as salmon, mozzarella, and more, with multiple locations around Miami. Smorgasburg is an open Filipino street food truck market, great for a cheaper price point and still with great taste.
Eating right on the beach is a staple moment travelers to Art Basel look forward to. The Palace is a drag bar right on Ocean Drive, where you can enjoy food and the art of drag at the same time. The famous Hakkasan restaurant has luxury Chinese dishes for any adventurous palate. Santorini by Georgios has Greek food and encourages sharing with their tapas and large portions.
