RL Grime Drops Final Halloween Mix

RL Grime

RL Grime has shared his final Halloween mix.

Since the trap trailblazer—real name Henry Steinway—dropped his first-ever haunting holiday-themed mix on SoundCloud in 2012, the release has become a beloved annual tradition, captivating trap fans around the world with a spine-chilling selection of genre hits, unreleased tunes, and high-profile collaborations as the air grows cooler in late October.

Released last week, this year’s 13th iteration, fittingly dubbed Halloween XIII: The End, marks the Sable Valley label boss’ last in the series.

“13 years of terror,” Steinway wrote in the mix’s SoundCloud track description. “What a ride it’s been. Thank you for listening.”

With a runtime of just over one hour, this year’s mix begins with a haunting edit of RL Grime and rising Sable Valley talent WINK’s unreleased collaboration before twisting through a maze of new tracks, IDs, and remixes from artists like Odd Language, Rohaan, Eliminate, MPH, JAWNS, Deadcrow, Eptic, LYNY, and many more.

As is tradition, unique edits take center stage throughout Halloween XIII, which sees Grime show off his studio reworks of iconic tracks like The Prodigy’s “Breathe,” Peggy Gou’s “(It Goes Like) Nanana,” and Sage The Gemini’s “Gas Pedal,” alongside more coveted remixes like PEEKABOO’s edit of Kwengface, Joy Orbison and Overmono’s “Freedom 2” and ISOxo’s edit of Central Cee and Lil Baby’s “BAND4BAND.”

Following in the footsteps of Shaquille O’Neal, Neil deGrasse Tyson, Guy Fieri, and many more, fan-favorite actor Jack Black introduces this year’s mix as the series’ final celebrity guest.

“I listened to your Halloween mixtape on my drive here. Dude, it’s insane,” Black says in the intro on a mock phone call to Grime. “I f***ing love it. Is it really true this is your last one? That must be why it goes so hard.”
