It’s that time of year. The leaves are falling, the pumpkin patches are open, and everyone you know is trying their absolute hardest to find a significant other… at least for the next 3 months. Therefore, we only find it fitting, to provide you a playlist for this upcoming cuffing season. And who better to star in it than the biggest heart-stopper of all, Seven Lions.
Some of you might be thinking that bass music isn’t exactly the kind of song you serenade your partner with. You’d be wrong. Recently, a new subsector genre of music has been dubbed in the dance music community:
“Crybanging: When a song has beautiful lyrics or chords, to the point of making you cry. But then the drop is so heavy, that you want to headbang. So you simultaneously cry and headbang at the same time.” – ashyy_07
We are not saying the Urban Dictionary is necessarily a reputable source of information, but this is pretty spot on. This is a perfect way to describe Illenium, Slander, and all fellow heart-wrenching bass dropping DJs. That being said, we believe that the best way to enter this new term into the world of dance music is by example. There is clearly one artist who can do it justice. We present to you, the language of love, from the man who loves the most: Seven Lions.
“When I can’t go to sleep unless you’re lying next to me, Feels like we’re falling for the first time”
“When I hate every part of me, I need your love to set me free”
Seven Lions, Gryffin
“I’ll shut my eyes and hold you close, you’re all I needed”
“Every single moment better than before…I can tell you I have never been so sure”
Seven Lions ft. Fiora
“Cause as long as you’re there to hold me, I’ll always be calling you home”
Seven Lions ft. Runn
“Cause lately, you’ve been the world to me”
Seven Lions ft. Ellie Goulding
“You fly me so high, I look down below, The shadow of night hides the way that we glow”
Seven Lions ft. Lynn Gunn
“But I know it’s not over. Feel the static, I can feel you getting closer”
“You’re the universe to me. You’re the air in my lungs. You’re the fields where I run”
Whether you want to find the love of your life or fall in love with yourself, this playlist has got you covered. To give credit where credit is due, many of the amazing singers are responsible for the beautiful lyrics we love the most. However, we also have to give credit to Seven Lions for packaging them oh so beautifully.
We hope you loved the songs as much as we do, and we can’t wait to see you all “crybanging” at the next Seven Lions set.
