Severe Weather Cancels First Day Of Primavera Sound’s Debut In Madrid

Those who were excited about Primavera Sound‘s debut Madrid edition will have to wait another day as the opening was pushed back due to severe weather.

The event was initially set to kick off tonight, June 8, but was called off after persistent severe weather including heavy storms affected pre-production and caused safety issues.

There were also set to be daytime events in Cívitas Metropolitano that were canceled due to the rain.

This means that unfortunately, fans will miss out on performances from New Order, Pusha T, Folamour, PinkPantheress, Rema, and Hudson Mohawke.

But not all is lost as Thursday ticket holders were still offered entry for Friday or Saturday using the same ticket.

Today was supposed to mark the first-ever Madrid edition of Primavera Sound, the sister event to the Barcelona festival which was held last weekend.

The doors are expected to open as usual beginning Friday, June 9.
