Skream & Benga Are Working On Their First Collaborative Album

Skream Benga

Skream and Benga are back in the studio together, working on their first collaborative album.

The pair of UK dubstep legends shared a snapshot from London’s Miloco Studios in an Instagram post on Friday, announcing the start of production for an as-yet-unnamed LP.

“DAY 1 of the Skream & Benga album has begun,” the duo—real names Oliver Jones and Adegbenga Adejumo—wrote.

It’s still early days for the project and no other concrete details have been shared at the time of writing. However, the longtime mates have set up a separate joint Instagram account to document their time in the studio and share previews of what’s to come.

Another post on that account, shared today, charts their production journey at day four and shows the South London icons laughing it up as they work on a bassline-heavy UK garage beat. Check it out below.

Earlier this year, Skream and Benga teamed up to release their collaborative dubstep remix of Charli XCX’s “Von dutch,” their first as a duo since they dropped “The Judgement” in 2003.

With plenty more tracks in the pipeline, the new album announcement coincides with a recent full-circle reunion for the pair of artists who helped define the dubstep genre with their trailblazing wobbly bass sounds in the 2000s to early 2010s.

After dabbling in house, techno, and disco for a decade, Skream returned to his dubstep roots on his eighth Skreamizm EP in 2023 and, while continuing to put out cross-genre productions, has reunited with his dubstep partner-in-crime Benga on stage in several high-profile B2Bs for Boiler Room, Glastonbury, and more over the last year.

Follow Skream and Benga’s joint Instagram account for more updates on their new album.
