Skrillex and Boys Noize first debuted their celebrated collaborative project, Dog Blood, in 2012. Now, over a decade later, they’re barking again.
Last week, Skrillex and Boys Noize performed together at the 2024 edition of FriendShip, the floating festival and brainchild of All My Friends founder Gary Richards, better known as the mastermind DJ Destructo.
After wowing FriendShippers with a headline performance from a private island in Belize, Skrillex teamed up with Boys Noize to surprise fans with the rip-roaring return of Dog Blood, performing an official back-to-back set under the moniker for the first time in four years.
The two legendary producers last shared the stage as Dog Blood at HARD Day of the Dead in November 2019, the same year they dropped their acclaimed uptempo EP, Turn Off The Lights.
Both artists have made serious noise in the last year, notably with their collaborative hit single “Fine Day Anthem.” Though the track was not an official Dog Blood release, fans around the world are hoping that the FriendShip performance could signify that new music from the pair is coming soon, especially after Boys Noize hinted at new Dog Blood tunes on a Reddit AMA in 2021.
On top of Skrillex’s dual performance at FriendShip, Boys Noize also took the cruise ship festival by storm.
The German artist invited rapper Rico Nasty on stage to premiere their upcoming collaboration and closed out his week on board the Norwegian Joy with FriendShip’s four-hour “Last Man Standing” B2B2B2B2B… set, alongside Destructo, Justin Martin, Mikey Lion, J.Phlip and more.
Check out a clip of Dog Blood’s return and several other “you-had-to-be-there” highlights from FriendShip 2024 below.
Hot on the heels of their momentous 2024 sailing, FriendShip has opened its 2025 waitlist here. This waitlist gives fans exclusive access to the festival’s pre-booking period on Tuesday, January 23 at 9AM PT, before cabin deposits open to the public on January 23 at 10AM PT.
