Slushii is a production machine. He’s been putting out music all throughout the pandemic with over 12 releases across 2020 and 2021. Now it seems he’s continuing that trend in 2022 with a new single on Monstercat in the first month of the year. The single is called “After Midnight” and it’s an intricate melodic dubstep hitter.
TikTok star Mackenzie Sol most commonly sings on modern pop, which is a whole different sound pallet than electronic music. However, on “After Midnight” he’s proven that he can bring the sort of tension and intensity that prepares listeners for an expertly crafted drop, which is where Slushii shines. This track’s drop feels messy, broken, and emotional. Perfectly in line with the lyrical messaging in the vocal work.
