Southwest Airlines Is Giving 50% Off On Fall And Winter Travel If You Book Today Or Tomorrow

Southwest Airlines is cutting fares in half for fall and winter travel throughout the country. The sale, a part of Southwest’s “Week of WOW,” gives travelers 50 percent off on select flights from October 24 to March 6, 2024.

To take advantage of this hefty discount, individuals should enter promo code “WOW50” when booking. Flights must be booked by 11:59PM PT tomorrow, Thursday, September 28.

With the discount, travelers can save on flights across the United States and even on flights to tropical destinations abroad like Cancun, Jamaica, Turks and Caicos, the Bahamas and more.

However, before booking, travelers should be aware that there are several blackout dates for the Southwest sale.

The following dates exclude travel throughout the lower 48 U.S. states from the sale:

November 17-22; November 25-27; December 21-23; December 26-30; January 1-2, 2024, January 6-7, 2024; February 16-19, 2024.

Different blackout dates apply to international flights and travel specifically to Orange County, California, Hawaii and Puerto Rico. More details regarding blackout dates and other “Week of WOW” promotions are available at Southwest’s website.

The discount can be applied to either one-way or round trip Wanna Get Away and Wanna Get Away Plus fares—a new tier that Southwest added last year, which allows customers to transfer unused flight credits to someone else for future use, among other perks.

Southwest’s base fare, their Wanna Get Away tier, recently added a perk that allows travelers who purchase a Wanna Get Away ticket to fly same-day standby for free, meeting an industry standard in line with other major airlines. As is custom for the Southwest, they do not charge change fees for any traveler.
