Spotify Announces $10 Million Donation To Benefit Musicians Impacted By COVID-19

As we all know, cuddling up and watching our favorite shows or putting on a good track has proved to be the perfect distraction during this COVID-19 pandemic none of us saw coming. You may think that the tv and music streaming services are at an all-time high right now. If you do believe this, think again. 

Since COVID-19 has taken flight, music streaming platforms have taken an incredible hit. To combat this, the public has called on Spotify to increase payouts to artists affected by this catastrophe. In response to this petition, they have announced that they will be donating $10 million to initiatives benefiting musicians.

The project now titled The Spotify COVID-19 Music Relief has already begun to set aside donations for organizations like PRS Foundation, Help Musicians, and MusiCares

The lay public also has the opportunity to join Spotify in donating through their newly created website.
