The melodic techno magician Stephan Bodzin just released Boavista, his first album since 2015. Coming out on his own imprint Herzblut Recordings, this long-player is a collection of 17 tracks Bodzin had written throughout his career but never finished. Bodzin started the process with 25 of his favorite works-in-progress, then gradually filtered the list down to the 17 that remain on the album.
In true techno fashion, most of the tracks are around seven minutes in length giving this album a total run time of two hours. Those who are familiar with Bodzin’s live sets and previous releases would not be surprised by such length, as he is a producer with the soul of a symphonic composer.
