It’s always summer for Steve Angello, who kicked off his new year with last week’s release of “ME”–a euphoric new single that captures all the feelings of a never-ending, sun-kissed festival season–out now via SIZE Records and Astralwerks.
“I designed ‘ME’ as an homage to the raw, unfiltered energy of S—A club set,” the Swedish House Mafia co-founder explained in a press release. “It’s that perfect track that doesn’t end the night, but stays with you, echoing in your head the next day.”
Created just hours before Angello’s Size XX show in Stockholm, the track features an uplifting synth-forward melody, cut with emotionally invigorating vocal chops and a steady flow of absolutely thumping kick drums.
“ME” serves as the anticipated follow-up to Angello’s acclaimed collaboration with Wh0 on “What You Need,” which was recently revealed to be the No. 3 most played house track of 2023 on 1001Tracklists’ A State of Dance Music 2023 Report.
“ME” is now the second single to be released in conjunction with Astralwerks, who are helping SIZE Records distribute all of their new releases throughout the label’s celebratory 20th year in existence.
The new single also follows Angello’s recent announcement that he’ll be headed back to Brazil for a limited run of shows in February, following a main stage performance at Tomorrowland Brazil last fall. The Swedish dance music icon will also be traveling to the California desert to play at both weekends of Coachella this coming April.
