Subtronics Sets Release Date For Anticipated Sophomore Album, ‘TESSERACT’

Bassheads, it’s time to stretch your necks: The release of Subtronics’ long-awaited sophomore album is just ten days away.

Today, the electronic production wizard and beloved bass music icon announced that TESSERACT, his second full-length studio LP, will arrive on February 16, 2024, via his own Cyclops Recordings label.

TESSERACT will serve as the follow-up to Subtronics’ groundbreaking 2022 debut, FRACTALS, and its ensuing remix album, ANTIFRACTALS, which debuted at No. 1 on Apple Music’s electronic albums chart upon its release. An official tracklist for TESSERACT will be revealed in the coming days.

Taking inspiration from the tesseract geometric concept, a mind-boggling four-dimensional cube, the album is said to represent Subtronics’ “passion for quantum physics and high-dimensional theory,” exploring the boundaries of sound design and shattering any sense of genre rigidity.

“Some songs are meant for the dancefloor, some are meant for the car, and some are meant to serenade you to sleep,” Subtronics–AKA Jesse Kardon–shared in a press release. “I am trying as best I can to create an immersive alternative reality with a magical yet sci-fi-esque world of energy and feeling across the entire spectrum.”

“This album is my second child, more than two years in the making, and I poured everything I could into it,” he continued.

Adding to the excitement, TESSERACT will materialize just in time for the start of Subtronics’ 16-date TESSERACT album tour, slated to launch at The Armory in Minneapolis on the same date as the album’s release. The tour will then cross the U.S. for shows in cities like Pittsburgh, Boston, Nashville, and Atlanta, plus an epic “Cyclops Center” gig at Brooklyn’s 19,000-capacity Barclays Center on March 1.

Each show will feature all-new innovative stage designs and breathtaking visual production inspired by the tesseract concept.
