Subtronics is back to releasing music and better than ever with his new album, Tesseract. This is the first album released since 2022 and will be accompanied by a North American tour starting February 16.

A tesseract is a 4-dimensional cube that contains a cube inside another cube. Subtronics has taken inspiration from the shape, often seen as an optical illusion, to create a whole sonic world within his new album, as represented on the cover art.

Containing 15 tracks and collaborations with some of the world’s top bass music acts, this LP represents a great step for the bass music community.

Black Ice” with REZZ was released as the album’s first single and is a slower bpm track that perfectly combines their distinct sounds. This song is also a follow-up to their previous collaboration, “Puzzle Box.

Hol!, Grabbitz, and Excision are additionally featured on the album which showcases some of bass music’s top artists of the moment.

“Insidious” with Grabbitz is a standout on the album, featuring a haunting and soft melody to begin then transitioning into a bass drop with an alien-sounding touch that is perfect for head banging.

“Quantum Queso” is also a fan favorite, which samples the character Ruth Langmore from the television show, Ozark. Subtronics takes the line “If you’re going to stop me, you’ll have to f***ing kill me,” and follows it up with a riddim drop that can only be met with the nastiest of bass faces.

Tesseract is only Subtronics’ second studio album but has already been met with global support.
