Summer Camp Organizers Reveal New Festival Concept, Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie

Today, the organizers of the beloved Summer Camp Music Festival have unveiled their new festival concept, Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie, slated for May 24-26, 2024.

Back in May, Summer Camp Founder and Producer, Ian Goldberg, revealed that the cherished Chillicothe, Illinois festival would discontinue due to logistical challenges and competition from larger events.

However, Goldberg also promised that a new festival would be born from Summer Camp’s ashes and return to the same Three Sisters Park venue occupied by “Scamp” throughout its impressive 22-year run.

Just like Summer Camp, Solshine Reverie plans to host a diverse, cross-genre lineup touching every corner of jam, electronic, bluegrass, funk, and rock. There will also be workshops, food & craft vendors, and the other activities that made its predecessor so special.

Solshine will continue Summer Camp’s core mission of inclusivity, discovery, and sustainability with its coveted experiential art area, The Illumination Woods, as well as SOULPATCH, a permanent garden dedicated to sharing knowledge about permaculture and sustainability.

“The spirit and community of Summer Camp will remain, but we are excited to again push boundaries, as we did when we started Summer Camp, and expand the festival’s mission by bringing the Solshine to the forefront,” Goldberg said in a press release.

Tickets for Summer Camp presents Solshine: A Music & Arts Reverie, all of which include camping, are now available at the festival’s official website. Solshine’s initial lineup announcement will be coming soon.
