Swedish House Mafia Finally Set Release Date For Alicia Keys Collaboration

Swedish House Mafia

Swedish House Mafia are ‘finally’ releasing their anticipated collaboration with Alicia Keys.

The electronic trio announced on social media today that their new single, “Finally,” which features a vocal performance from the acclaimed R&B singer, will arrive this Friday, August 30, after months of teasers and speculation.

To mark the forthcoming release, Keys joined Swedish House Mafia on stage at Ushuaïa Ibiza last night to perform the new track in the closing moments of the group’s final performance of their six-week residency at the open-air superclub.

Swedish House Mafia teased the surprise appearance on social media for at least a week, writing Instagram captions such as, “Got something special in mind for the last dance next week,” and “Finally, right??”

Euphoric synth leads and Keys’ powerful vocals take center stage on “Finally,” which has reportedly been in the works for several years. Swedish House Mafia gave the track its live debut back in 2022 at San Francisco’s Chase Center, where Keys also performed during their Paradise Again arena tour.

More recently, online buzz around the track resurfaced after Keys hinted at a collaboration on X, formerly Twitter. When asked about a supposedly lost collaboration between herself, rapper J. Cole and the trio, she tagged both acts in a post that read, “Let’s get it!!!”

“Finally” follows Swedish House Mafia’s “Lioness,” which arrived in June after its original release date was delayed by nearly six weeks. Both tracks are rumored to appear on the trio’s forthcoming second studio album, which has also been delayed considerably.

In August 2023, group member Steve Angello announced that the follow-up to Paradise Again would be released before the end of that summer. It is still yet to materialize and has no confirmed release date at the time of writing.

Following their landmark Ushuaïa closing, which also featured sets from Chris Lake, KILIMANJARO, and Arielle Free, Swedish House Mafia is slated for two residency appearances at Las Vegas’ XS Nightclub before playing Will Ferrell’s Cancer For College charity benefit concert in Chicago this October.
